Image Converter turns almost any image into one of the three formats that work everywhere: JPG for photos and sharing, PNG for lossless editing and transparency, and WebP for small, fast-loading web images. It reads JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF and SVG through your browser, plus iPhone HEIC and multi-page TIFF through built-in decoders. Encoding uses MozJPEG, OxiPNG and libwebp, so files are smaller than a normal browser save. You can set the quality for JPG and WebP, choose lossless WebP for graphics, and pick the background colour that fills transparent areas in a JPG. Animated GIF and WebP files are saved as a single frame, and only the first page of a multi-page TIFF is converted. Nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions
Which format should I convert to?
JPG for photos you will email, upload or print. PNG for screenshots, logos, editing and anything that needs transparency. WebP for images on a website, where it is usually smallest and keeps transparency.
Can it convert AVIF and HEIC?
Yes. HEIC is decoded by a built-in decoder in any browser. AVIF is decoded by the browser itself, which works in current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Very old browsers may not open AVIF.
What happens to animated GIFs?
Only the first frame is converted, because JPG and PNG are still images here. The animation is not kept.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Every image is decoded, processed and saved inside your browser using WebAssembly encoders, so the files never leave your phone or computer. You can switch off your internet connection after the page loads and the tool still works.
