iPhones save photos as HEIC, which Windows PCs, older apps and many upload forms cannot open. Add as many HEIC or HEIF files as you like and each one is decoded in your browser with the heic-to library and saved as a JPG with the same name. A quality slider runs from 40% to 100%; the default of 90% looks the same as the original for normal photos, while lower values make smaller files for email or web forms. Converting re-encodes the image, so camera details such as the date and GPS location are not copied into the JPG. Each HEIC file gives one JPG from its main image. Download files one by one or together as a ZIP.

How to use the HEIC to JPG

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I open HEIC files on Windows?

Windows needs the HEIF and HEVC extensions from the Microsoft Store to show HEIC photos, and many PCs do not have them. Converting to JPG means the photos open in any viewer or website without installing anything.

Does converting HEIC to JPG lose quality?

Slightly, as JPG uses lossy compression, but at the default 90% the difference is very hard to see. The JPG is often larger than the HEIC file. Choose HEIC to PNG if you need a lossless copy.

Can I convert a whole batch of iPhone photos at once?

Yes. Select as many HEIC files as you need and they are converted one after another. When there are several, a Download all (ZIP) button saves them in one file.

Is location data removed from the JPG?

Yes. The photo is redrawn in the browser and saved as a new JPG, so EXIF details such as GPS location, camera model and the original capture date are not carried over. Keep the HEIC if you need that information.

Are my photos uploaded to convert them?

No. Decoding and conversion happen in your browser tab, so personal photos never leave your phone or computer and nothing is stored on our servers.
