Choose how many pages go on each sheet (2, 4, 6, 8, 9 or 16) and a sheet size of A4, Letter or A3. Orientation can be portrait, wide or Best fit, which picks whichever makes the pages largest. Pages can run across then down, or down then across, and you can set the sheet margin and the gap between pages in millimetres (defaults are 8 mm and 4 mm) and add thin borders. Each page is placed as vector content, so text and graphics stay sharp rather than being turned into images. Links, comments and form field values are not carried onto the new sheets, so flatten a filled form first. The layout is built in your browser and the file stays on your device.

How to use the Pages per Sheet (N-up)

  1. Drop your PDF into the box and the tool shows how many sheets the result will need.
  2. Choose the pages per sheet, the sheet size and the orientation, or leave it on Best fit.
  3. Set the page order, margins, spacing and whether to draw borders around each page.
  4. Click Create N-up PDF and download the new file ready to print.

Frequently asked questions

How do I print multiple PDF pages on one sheet?

Load the PDF here, choose how many pages per sheet and the paper size, then click Create N-up PDF. Print the downloaded file at 100% scale and each sheet will hold the number of pages you chose.

What is N-up printing?

N-up means placing several pages, N of them, scaled down onto one sheet of paper. Two-up and four-up are common for handouts and proofreading, while 9 or 16 per sheet suits slide thumbnails.

Will the text still be readable?

Pages are placed as vectors, not images, so text stays crisp at any zoom. On paper, small fonts at 9 or 16 pages per sheet can be hard to read, so try 2 or 4 for text-heavy documents.

Why use this instead of my printer's pages-per-sheet setting?

An N-up PDF prints the same on any printer and can be shared or sent to a print shop. Printer driver settings vary between machines and do not give you a file you can keep.

Are links and form fields kept?

No. Each page is placed as fixed content on the new sheet, so links, comments and interactive form fields are left behind. If the PDF is a filled form, run Flatten PDF first so the answers stay visible.
