Set how much to trim from the top, right, bottom and left in millimetres, drag a rectangle on the page preview, or click Auto-crop whitespace to detect where the content starts and ends on the page you are viewing. The same margins are then applied to all pages, odd or even pages only, or a page range you type. Pages too small for the margins are skipped and reported. The page size shrinks to the area you keep. Normally the trimmed content is hidden rather than deleted, so nothing is re-rendered and quality is unchanged. Tick Remove the cropped-off content to delete it for good: cropped pages are then redrawn as images, so their text can no longer be selected. Processing is local.

How to use the Crop PDF

  1. Drop your PDF into the box and a preview of the first page appears.
  2. Type the margins in millimetres, drag a crop box on the preview, or click Auto-crop whitespace.
  3. Choose whether to crop all pages, odd or even pages, or a page range.
  4. Click Crop PDF and download the trimmed file.

Frequently asked questions

How do I crop the margins of a PDF?

Load the PDF, then drag a box around the area you want to keep on the preview, or type the margins in millimetres. Click Crop PDF and every selected page is trimmed by the same amount.

Can it crop white space automatically?

Yes. Click Auto-crop whitespace and the tool finds the edges of the content on the page shown in the preview. Those margins are then applied to every selected page, so check pages with different layouts.

Does cropping delete the hidden content?

Not by default. The trimmed content is hidden and can be recovered with PDF software. Tick Remove the cropped-off content to delete it: cropped pages are redrawn as images of the area you keep, so the rest is gone, but their text is no longer selectable.

Can I crop odd and even pages differently?

Yes, in two passes. Crop the odd pages with one set of margins and download the result, then load that file, choose Even pages and crop again with the other margins. This suits scanned books.

Will cropping reduce quality?

Not with a normal crop. The page is not re-rendered or compressed; only its boundaries change, so text stays selectable and images keep full resolution. If you tick Remove the cropped-off content, cropped pages become 200 DPI images instead.
