Salary & Paycheck

UK take-home pay, HMRC income tax bands, US paycheck with 401(k), and net wage projections.

Salary and paycheck calculators turn a headline figure into the money that reaches your bank account, and check the payments you are owed when your work changes. They cover employees, contractors and the self-employed in the UK, the US and Canada, each with that country's own 2026 rules.

The UK Take-Home Pay Calculator applies the 2026/27 rates: a £12,570 Personal Allowance, Income Tax at 20%, 40% and 45%, employee National Insurance at 8% then 2%, your pension method and every student loan plan, with a Scotland option for Scottish bands. On £30,000 you keep £25,119.60 a year. The UK Tax Code Checker explains codes such as 1257L, BR and 0T. The Second Job Tax Calculator, Bonus Tax Calculator, Pay Rise Calculator and Pro Rata Salary Calculator deal with the pay changes that make payslips look wrong, and the IR35 Calculator compares a contractor's take-home inside and outside IR35.

When something changes at work, the Statutory Sick Pay Calculator applies the April 2026 rules: £123.25 a week or 80% of pay if lower, from the first day off, for up to 28 weeks. The Maternity Pay Calculator, Redundancy Pay Calculator and Universal Credit Calculator work out other entitlements. Statutory redundancy pay caps weekly pay at £751, so the most you can get is £22,530.

In the US, the US Paycheck Calculator applies 2026 federal brackets, the standard deduction, Social Security, Medicare, 401(k) and each state's income tax and payroll deductions such as California SDI. In Canada, the Canada Income Tax Calculator 2026 covers federal and provincial tax, CPP or QPP and EI in every province and territory. The EI Benefits Calculator estimates Employment Insurance at 55% of earnings up to $729 a week, and the Ontario Severance Pay Calculator checks termination and severance pay under the Employment Standards Act. The Overtime Calculator, Capital Gains Tax Calculator and Self-Employed Tax Calculator each cover more than one country.

Every result is an estimate for planning and does not replace your payslip, pay stub or tax advice.

Common questions about salary & paycheck

How much tax do I pay on my salary in the UK?

In 2026/27 you pay no Income Tax on the first £12,570, then 20% up to £50,270, 40% up to £125,140 and 45% above that in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. On £30,000 that is £3,486 of Income Tax plus £1,394.40 of National Insurance, leaving £25,119.60 before pension or student loan.

How much statutory sick pay will I get in 2026/27?

Statutory Sick Pay is £123.25 a week or 80% of your average weekly earnings, whichever is lower, paid from your first full day off sick for absences since 6 April 2026. On £600 a week, working Monday to Friday, that is £24.65 a day. It lasts up to 28 weeks in one spell of sickness.

How is statutory redundancy pay worked out?

Each full year of service earns a set number of weeks' pay: half a week under 22, one week from 22 to 40 and one and a half weeks from 41. Only the last 20 years count, and weekly pay is capped at £751 from 6 April 2026. Aged 45 with 10 years' service on £600 a week, you get £7,200.

Are the US paycheck results exact?

No, they are estimates. The calculator applies 2026 federal brackets, the standard deduction, Social Security and Medicare, and each state's 2026 brackets and deductions, but it leaves out city and county taxes and does not read your W-4. Your employer's withholding can differ, so check the figure against your pay stub.

How much CPP and EI will I pay in Canada in 2026?

CPP is 5.95% of earnings between $3,500 and $74,600, up to $4,230.45, plus CPP2 of 4% on earnings from $74,600 to $85,000. EI is 1.63% of earnings up to $68,900, a maximum of $1,123.07. Quebec workers pay QPP, a lower EI rate and QPIP instead. The Canada Income Tax Calculator 2026 applies all of these.
