Enter your due date, your average pay, when you started with your employer and when you plan to start leave. The calculator checks the two tests for Statutory Maternity Pay, 26 weeks with your employer by the qualifying week and average earnings of at least £129 a week, then pays 90% of your average for 6 weeks and £194.32 or 90%, whichever is lower, for the next 33 weeks. It lists every pay week with dates, the qualifying week, the earliest leave start and when to tell your employer. If you do not qualify it estimates Maternity Allowance. Partners can switch to Statutory Paternity Pay, and anyone can add a company scheme and see a rough take-home figure for each stage.

Frequently asked questions
How much is statutory maternity pay in 2026/27?
You get 90% of your average weekly pay for 6 weeks, then £194.32 a week or 90% if lower for 33 weeks. On £600 a week that is 6 weeks at £540 and 33 weeks at £194.32, a total of £9,652.56 before tax over 39 weeks.

You need 26 weeks with your employer continuing into the qualifying week, the 15th week before the week your baby is due, and average earnings of at least £129 a week. For a baby due on 15 January 2027 the qualifying week runs from 27 September to 3 October 2026.
What if I do not qualify for SMP?
