XLSX is Excel's default spreadsheet format and the export format for Google Sheets and Apple Numbers. Add one or more .xlsx or .xlsm files and each workbook becomes a PDF. If a workbook has several sheets you choose which to include, with hidden sheets unticked to start. Every sheet is laid out as a table headed by its name, and pages are sideways by default. Fit to page width shrinks the text so all columns fit across the page, or you can split wide sheets into column groups on separate pages. Options also cover page size, margins and page numbers. The PDF shows saved cell values as text, without colours, borders, merged cells, charts or images, and each sheet is limited to 20,000 rows.

How to use the XLSX to PDF

  1. Add one or more .xlsx files from your device.
  2. Tick the sheets to include in each workbook.
  3. Set the page size, orientation, margins, page numbers and column fitting.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a Google Sheet to PDF here?

In Google Sheets choose File, Download, Microsoft Excel (.xlsx), then add that file here. Google Sheets can also export straight to PDF, which keeps colours and borders that this converter leaves out.

Does each worksheet start on a new page?

Yes. When you include several sheets, each starts on a fresh page with its name as a heading, and long sheets continue across as many pages as they need.

Are formulas kept in the PDF?

No. The PDF shows each cell's value as it was last calculated and saved in the file, formatted as text. Formulas are not included, and if a workbook was never recalculated before saving, the old value is what appears.

Can I convert a password-protected XLSX?

No. Encrypted workbooks cannot be read in the browser, and the tool will tell you so. Remove the password in Excel or LibreOffice, save a copy, and convert that instead.

Is my financial data uploaded?

No. The .xlsx file is read and converted locally in your browser, so figures and formulas never leave your device. The only thing downloaded from our site is the font used to typeset the PDF.
