Add one or more .docx files and each becomes a PDF. The document is read with mammoth, which pulls out headings, paragraphs, bullet and numbered lists, tables and embedded images, and the tool then lays these out on fresh pages. Choose A4, Letter, Legal, A3 or A5, portrait or sideways pages, narrow, normal or wide margins, and page numbers. Text is set in the DejaVu Sans font, so your original fonts, colours and font sizes are not kept, and bold or italic survives only where a whole paragraph is bold. Headers, footers, text boxes, columns and tracked changes are not reproduced. The result suits letters, reports and coursework where content matters more than exact design. Old .doc files are not supported.

Frequently asked questions

Will my Word formatting be preserved?

Partly. Headings, paragraphs, lists, tables and images carry over, but text is reset in the DejaVu Sans font, colours and font sizes are dropped, and bold or italic is kept only when a whole paragraph uses it. Headers, footers and text boxes are not included.

How do I get an exact copy of my Word layout?

Use Word's own export: File, Save As, PDF, or File, Download, PDF in Google Docs. This browser converter rebuilds the content on clean pages, which is fine for text-led documents but not for designed CVs, brochures or forms.

Can I convert an old .doc file?

No. Legacy Word 97 to 2003 .doc files cannot be read in the browser. Open the file in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice, save it as .docx, then convert it here.

Can I convert password-protected Word files?

No. Encrypted .docx files cannot be read, and the tool will show an error. Remove the password in Word first, using File, Info, Protect Document, then save and add the unprotected copy.

Is Word to PDF conversion private?

Yes. The document is read and converted in your browser and is never uploaded, so contracts, CVs and coursework stay on your device. The only thing downloaded from our site is the font used to typeset the PDF.
