Create your signature three ways: draw it with a mouse, finger or stylus; type your name and pick one of three script styles; or upload a photo or scan (PNG, JPG or WebP up to 20 MB) and let the tool remove the white background, with a slider to fine-tune it. Choose black, blue or dark blue ink. Click or drag to place the signature, resize it, and copy it to every page if needed. You can add the date under each signature in UK, US or ISO format, and put your initials on every page. The signature is added to the page as an image. It is a visual electronic signature, not a certificate-based digital signature. Everything stays on your device.

How to use the Sign PDF

  1. Drop the PDF you need to sign into the box.
  2. Draw, type or upload your signature and choose the ink colour.
  3. Click or drag on the page to place it, then resize, move or copy it to all pages.
  4. Tick the date or initials options if needed, then click Sign & download PDF.

Frequently asked questions

How do I sign a PDF without printing it?

Load the PDF, draw or type your signature, then click on the page where it should go and resize it to fit the line. Click Sign & download PDF and the signed copy is ready to email back.

Is a signature added this way legally binding?

Simple electronic signatures like this are accepted for many everyday agreements in the UK. It is not a certificate-based digital signature, so documents that need an advanced or qualified signature, or a witnessed deed, need a different service.

Can I upload a photo of my handwritten signature?

Yes. Choose Upload image and add a photo or scan in PNG, JPG or WebP format. The white paper background is removed automatically, and a slider lets you adjust it if faint strokes disappear or the paper still shows.

Can I initial every page of a PDF?

Yes. Tick Initial every page, type up to five characters and choose bottom right, bottom left or top right. Your initials are added in the same script style and ink as your typed signature.

Is my signature stored anywhere?

No. The signature is created and added in your browser and is never uploaded or saved on a server. Once you close the page it is gone, so you create it again next time.
