Pick England, Wales or Scotland, find your council and choose your band to see this year's Council Tax. The figures come from the official 2026/27 tables published by MHCLG, the Welsh Government and the Scottish Government, covering 296 billing areas in England, 22 in Wales and 32 in Scotland. The calculator applies the 25% single person discount, the 50% discount when everyone is disregarded, the student exemption and the Disabled Band Reduction. You get the yearly bill, the 10 and 12 monthly instalments worked out the way councils round them, every band for your council side by side, and what would change the bill. English and Welsh figures are area averages including parish or community precepts, and Scottish figures leave out water charges, so your own bill is the final word.

How to use the Council Tax Calculator
- Choose England, Wales or Scotland, search for your council and pick your Council Tax band.
- The calculator takes your council's official Band D figure for 2026/27 and applies the fixed ratio for your band, such as 6/9 for Band A or 473/360 for Band E in Scotland.
- It then applies the Disabled Band Reduction if you tick it and the 25% or 50% discount for who lives in the home, or the student exemption.
- You see the yearly bill, the 10 and 12 monthly payments, every band for your council and the changes that would lower the bill.
