Fill in an invoice form that follows the EN 16931 business terms: seller and buyer with VAT and company numbers, document type, line items with UN/ECE units, and VAT categories including zero rated, exempt, reverse charge, intra-EU and export. As you type, the tool checks the EN 16931 core rules that depend on your entries, and, when you choose the XRechnung profile, the German XRechnung rules too, such as seller contact details and the buyer reference (BR-DE-15). Each problem shows its official rule ID. The buyer reference, a Leitweg-ID for German public bodies, is never filled in for you. Export UBL 2.1 XML, CII XML and a readable Factur-X PDF. These checks are not a full validation, so test files with your recipient's portal.

Frequently asked questions
Which e-invoice standards are supported?
The tool writes UBL 2.1 XML to EN 16931, with an option for the XRechnung 3.0 customisation ID, UN/CEFACT CII XML to the EN 16931 profile, and a Factur-X PDF with that CII file embedded. It does not add the Peppol BIS 3.0 customisation ID.
Is the Factur-X PDF fully PDF/A-3 compliant?
Not guaranteed. The XML is embedded with PDF/A-3 metadata, but a browser cannot promise full conformance. If a recipient checks strictly, send the UBL or CII XML, or test the PDF with veraPDF or their own validator first.
Will my e-invoice pass validation?
Not always. The tool checks the EN 16931 core rules and, with the XRechnung profile, the XRechnung rules that depend on what you type, and shows each by rule ID, for example BR-DE-6 for a missing seller phone number. It is not a full validator, so run the file through the KoSIT validator or your recipient's portal.
Can I create a credit note?
Yes. Set the document type to Credit note (381). You can also choose a corrected invoice (384) or self-billed invoice (389). The readable PDF shows the matching title, such as CREDIT NOTE.
Is my invoice data sent to a server?
No. The XML and PDF files are generated in your browser and nothing is sent. If you have saved seller details in Create Invoice PDF on this browser, they are used to prefill the form, and Forget saved details in that tool clears them.
What is a Leitweg-ID and where do I find it?
It is the routing code German public bodies use to receive e-invoices, such as 04011000-1234512345-06, and it goes in the buyer reference (BT-10). XRechnung requires it. The buyer gives it to you, usually on the order or contract. The tool checks its two check digits but cannot tell whether it belongs to your buyer.
Why does the tool not fill in the buyer reference for me?
The buyer reference tells the buyer's system where to route your invoice, so only the buyer can supply it. Copying the invoice number into it would pass a quick check but send the invoice nowhere useful. If it is empty with XRechnung selected, rule BR-DE-15 is shown as not met.
