Upload a supplier delivery note, despatch note or packing slip as a PDF, photo, Word file, spreadsheet or text, up to 25MB. The tool picks up the delivery note number, supplier, customer and date, then reads each line: SKU, description, quantity ordered and quantity delivered. Columns headed 'delivered', 'shipped', 'received' or 'despatched' are read as the delivered quantity. Everything appears in an editable table, so you can correct counts after checking the goods in. The Excel export includes a Shortfall column, ordered minus delivered, on the line items sheet, and the CSV has both quantities. Carrier names and tracking numbers are not extracted. Files are processed on our server and not stored.

How to use the Delivery Note to Excel

  1. Upload the delivery note, despatch note or packing slip.
  2. The tool reads the note number, supplier and date, then each line's SKU, description, ordered quantity and delivered quantity.
  3. Check the counts in the editable table against the goods you received and correct any that differ.
  4. Export to Excel with a shortfall column, or to CSV, for your goods-in records.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a delivery note to Excel?

Upload the delivery note and check the extracted lines in the table. Click Export to download an Excel workbook, which includes a line items sheet with ordered quantity, delivered quantity and shortfall for each product. A CSV of the lines is also available.

How are short deliveries shown?

The Excel export has a Shortfall column worked out as ordered minus delivered. If a line shows 50 ordered and 46 delivered, the shortfall is 4. A negative figure means more was delivered than ordered on that line.

Does it extract carrier or tracking numbers?

No. It reads the delivery note number, supplier, customer, date and the product lines. Carrier names, consignment numbers and tracking references are not picked up, so add them to the spreadsheet yourself if you need them.

Can I compare a delivery note with the purchase order?

Not automatically in this tool. You can convert the delivery note and the PO to Excel and compare them there. To check a supplier invoice against a PO line by line, use the PO vs Invoice Checker.

Which delivery note formats can I upload?

PDF, JPG, PNG or WEBP photos, Word (.docx), Excel, CSV and plain text, up to 25MB. Photos are converted to text with OCR first. For paper notes, a clear scan or a flat, well-lit photo of each page works; both are read with OCR in your browser.
